What is my role for Let’s Talk?

I am a volunteer Director of Lets Talk (Young People). My main aim is to assist Niki , the Managing Director in what ever my skill set can help with. Ensuring all visual aspects at Lets Talk remain on brand. To help and support with any creative projects and decision making.

What is my relevant experience?

I come from a creative background with many years of experience working within design , interiors , film and tv. I have worked in schools and theatres with children and young people . I have an understanding of a trauma-responsive and biophilic designed environment and have supported Lets Talk in implementing this . Creating a space where children and young people feel safe. I am a local parent of a young person so understand the difficulties that young people can face. I have worked over the last two years supporting the design students on placement at Lets Talk.

What I like to do when I’m not working?

I like to doing anything creative. I love a bit of crafting , drawing and painting. I have a passion for up cycling , so you will often see my down the junk yards and auctions looking for bargains . I also have my pets that keep me busy. Ruby the old chocolate lab and my two new kittens Maggie and Mabel.

We used Johari’s Window which is a method to explore our qualities. We asked friends, family, colleagues, and young people to tell us what they think too. Here is mine:
